Wes Anderson (The Life Aquatic with Steve Zissou, The Royal Tenenbaums, The Darjeeling Limited) directs the stop-motion animation of Roald Dahl’s much loved children’s book. Fantastic Mr. Fox is voiced by George Clooney, Meryl Streep, Jason Schwartzman, Bill Murray and Michael Gambon, and scheduled for release in the fall of 2009.

"Action 13 Reporter," eh? Could that be the same Action 13 that preemptively reported the buying of Margaret Yang’s science project by the Navy?
Ha, I love that Garth Jennings (Hitchhiker’s Guide to the Galaxy, Son of Rambow) is in the cast. It’s nice to see Wes branching out to some other contemporary filmmakers that aren’t in the New York circle.
I have a feeling Where the Wild Things Are will kind of overshadow this as far as discussion and excitement, but I’m equally as excited for this not having seen a single frame as I am for the Jonze movie. I have a young neice and nephew and finding movies to take them to or watch with them that aren’t mindless pop culture reference generating machines outside of Pixar has been very difficult. Hopefully these two will add to that small set of intelligent movies that appropriate for children.
