How to make a Fantastic Birthday party

Spifftacular is a blog about a mum and a wife who like nerd stuff and also to do handicrafts. Well, it seems like she is a big fan of “Fantastic Mr. Fox”, and she wanted to do a thematic birthday for her baby.

First, the invitation:

Isn’t it cute? The palette and the font, they both match with the theme.

Then, the decoration. How about some posters?

And of course, quotes from the movie. In this case, she matched them with pictures of the baby.

Yep, it looks awesome.

Well, she also thought about the food (even stuff that Mr. Fox could have stolen), the cake and the drinks, a game with starry apples and… whackbat!

This is how Coach Skip explained to us how to play it in the movie:

Basically, there’s three grabbers, three taggers, five twig runners, and a player at Whackbat. Center tagger lights a pine cone and chucks it over the basket and the whackbatter tries to hit the cedar stick off the cross rock. Then the twig runners dash back and forth until the pinecone burns out and the umpire calls hotbox. Finally, you count up however many score-downs it adds up to and divide that by nine.

This is how she explains  how to play it in real life: link. Yes, everything is possible.

Would you make a Fantastic Mr. Fox party? What other ideas do you have?
