“The famed house from Wes Anderson’s 2001 ‘The Royal Tenenbaums‘ is now available for rent for a cool $20,000 a month in the Hamilton Heights neighborhood of Harlem. Anderson discovered the house while location scouting in 2000 and said he admired the home’s storybook quality.’ Indeed, looking closely at the home’s listing on Street Easy reveals it’s been renovated since filming, but the house still retains plenty of the charm it held in the Oscar-nominated movie. “

FilmStage: Wes Anderson to Shoot Next Film in Spain This Summer
“El Pais reports that the director will be staying in Europe, but headed to Spain––specifically Chinchón in southeast Madrid––this July, August, and September to shoot his next movie. Sets are already being built for the production that resemble desert landscapes seen in westerns, though it’s reported that the film will not be in that genre.”

As the Berlinare premiere of Isle of Dogs draws nearer, Vulture has exclusively released a 90 second long clip from the actual, finished movie. The animation style and music will be very familiar to anybody who’s seen Fantastic Mr Fox, Wes Anderson’s previous animation, but this one looks much more violent, perhaps aimed at an older and less easily frightened audience his movies usually gather. An animated film not for the youngest audience, but for Wes Anderson loving teens & adults alike.

As we speculated back in April, Isle of Dogs will open at the 68th Berlin film festival. Isle of Dogs will see daylight on February 15th 2018 at the film festival, shortly after which it’ll be released in theatres in the US, UK and Australia.
I’m most delighted that Wes Anderson will kick off the Berlinale Competition again. Isle of Dogs will be the first animated film to open the Festival – a film that will capture audiences’ hearts with its Wes Anderson charm

When we made ‘Moonrise Kingdom’, Wes, Roman, Jason, Bill Murray and I all shared a big old house in Newport. It was about as fun as it gets. Like making home movies with your friends in middle school, except it ends up Opening Night at Cannes. We didn’t want it to end so after the premiere we went to Italy for a hang and we’ve kept it up. ‘Grand Budapest’ got handed out for a read the first summer and ‘Isle of Dogs’ was outlined the next. Bill wasn’t with us this summer but we wore his #WilliamMurrayGolf shirts to infuse the idyll with his spirit of fun. And #BMW loaned us incredible rides to get the growing families over the dusty bumpy Tuscan roads to gelato at the town on the hill. If I had to get stranded with a group on an island, I could make it work with these cats.

The Wes Anderson Collection: The Grand Budapest Hotel, by Matt Zoller Seitz (Abrams)
Make this one a two-for-one deal and also pick up esteemed film/TV critic Matt Zoller Seitz’ 2013 book The Wes Anderson Collection, in which Seitz interviews Anderson about all of his pre-Budapest movies. This one, of course, is all about the Oscar-nominated 2014 movie, and like its predecessor, The Wes Anderson Collection: The Grand Budapest Hotel also features a wealth of behind-the-scenes photos and an overall gorgeous layout. It’s eye candy for the brain.
