Exciting news for fans of pixels, Wes’ third film The Royal Tenenbaums will, as Rushmore before it, be getting a Blu-Ray re-release from The Criterion Collection. Looks like the extras will be identical to the terrific DVD release. You can check out the still great, albeit admittedly familiar, artwork by Eric Chase Anderson below. The Blu-Ray will be available in the US on 8/14.
Rushmore Director’s Cut Coming to Criterion on Blu-Ray in November!
Criterion announced their November releases this afternoon, and none other than Criterion stand-by Rushmore is coming to Blu-Ray!
The disc will feature everything from the original, stellar, DVD edition, plus a brand new Wes supervised transfer of his “Director’s Cut.” We’re excited to see it, and hopefully this means we’ll be getting similar upgrades for The Royal Tenenbaums and The Life Aquatic.

U.K. Fantastic Mr. Fox Blu-Ray/DVD Announced
Though Fantastic Mr. Foxis only in its second week here in the States, it’s been out in the U.K. for a bit longer, and as such, Fox has announced the Blu-Ray and DVD edtions of the film for that market.
The Blu-Ray and DVD will be released March 10, 2010. It will be a 2-Disc set with a digital copy included on the Blu-Ray. No further details or extras have been released, but the cover art is below. It’s…a cover. At least Kylie’s on it.
