I live in a city where a limited number of limited releases are released. June 29 can’t get here soon enough.
Walt Bishop. Can’t wait.
Seeing it this weekend! My first priority.
Forgot to include: Sam Shakusky is my favorite character, because he’s got admirable spirit. The actor really impressed me in terms of the endearing energy he had.
This package looks amazing! Can’t wait to see the film.
Love The Narrator because I’m a Bob Balaban fan going back to Catch-22.
I have not seen the movie yet due to limit release in theaters but I am sure I will like Jason Schwartzman’s character the best.
The boy with the patch over his eye
I Loved Bruce Willis’s character, I love the humanity in him, the sadness and the need to share love with people. Willing to help out the kids in love when he sees them.
Sam Shakusky is my absolute favorite character!!!! YAYYYYYYYYYYY!
My favorite character is, without a doubt, Wes Anderson.
Now please give me the free things.
Just got back from seeing it in LA. Really loved it. I plan on going a few more times if I can! Bill Murray, as always, was amazing.
can’t wait to see this, opening in the boston area on the 31st!!
MURRAY is GOD or in the very least a latter day saint..
Cousin Ben! In the slow motion sequence from the trailer he just looks like the perfect Wes Anderson character.
I can’t wait to see Moonrise and Jason Schwartzman’s performance as Cousin Ben. From what I have seen, he will bring the fun with a role that he had in Rushmore combined with the nonchalant seriousness that his character in Darjeeling Limited had.
Bill Murray’s character and those madras pants.
got to be cousin Ben but I’m flexible on this important choice…..cousin Ben???
Moonrise Kingdom is on the top of my must see movies of this year. Meanly because of Bill Murrays character Mr.Bishop. I haven’nt seen the movie yet. But im sure he’ll be great.
Watching a Wes Anderson movie is always like watching a children’s film for adults. Anderson creates such complex characters that exude a childlike aura even through the most adult of situations. One of Anderson’s favorite thematic personalities for his characters would be the classic “bad parenting” attitude. Usually helmed by Bill Murray, we can expect someone in almost every Anderson film to comedically come to catastrophic parenting conclusions. In “Moonrise Kingdom”, Murray revisits his uninterested and misunderstood character as “Walt Bishop.” Murray brings his usual cadence and comedic timing to Bishop, though this time we see more of a fed up and pained side behind Murray’s comedy. Never content with the “look at me, I’m a comedian telling jokes” approach of acting, Murray delivers yet another amazing performance in what is currently my favorite Wes Anderson film and possibly favorite film of the past few years. I went to see Black Swan five times and Midnight in Paris six times. I can see myself breaking the record with a possible seven for Wes Anderson’s newest masterpiece, “Moonrise Kingdom.”
It’s hard to pick my absolute favorite character because so far I love them all. But if I had to go with one, I’d say Scout Master Ward. Everytime I hear him say “Jiminy Cricket! He’s flown the coop!” my heart skips a beat! I cannot wait to see this movie 🙂
I’m going to love Sam because I would love to dabble in painting landscapes and nudes.
Since the movie isn’t out for another month in Illinois I haven’t seen it yet, but I’m confident bill Murray’s character will be my favorite. Bill Murray can do no wrong.
I’ll be out back. I’m going to find a tree to chop down…
I went to see a midnight premier of it and absolutely loved it. My favorite character….hmmm….I have to say I really liked Sam. I liked that even though he was picked on all the time that he stood up for himself. One of my favorite parts was the confrontation with his fellow Khaki scouts in the woods. Brings a smile to my face just thinking about it. 🙂
I haven’t seen it yet, but if it’s anything like Wes’ usual cinematic fare, I’ll be hard pushed to pick a favourite character. I’m sure all will be completely oddball and loveable in their own way.
Just got back from the Cinema, absolutely loved the film, can’t stop smiling.
Didn’t realize until Friday that I’m going to have to wait a whole extra month for it to come to the theater near me. Gah! Can’t wait! 🙁
Walt Bishop – I’m guessing will be my favorite character judging from the trailer.
Cousin Ben, because he wants his fee.
haven’t seen it yet, but i sure will once it’s in my city.
.
First impressions have placed Jason Schwartzman as my favorite character. I don’t know many details outside of the trailers, but I love his look as what appears to be a drill-Sergeant pastor!
Saw it yesterday and it was the greatest Wes Anderson movie so far.
I thought Edward Norton was awesome as Scout Master Ward.
Living in the desolate midwest, I have to wait for the movie. Early polls show Cousin Ben will be my favourite. Why? Jason Schwartzman!
kid with the eye patch, dependable and expendable, but camp ivanhoe would be nothing without his bugle calling
Seeing Bill Murray with the axe has convinced me to have a Memorial Day weekend Wes Anderson marathon
Love Capt. Sharp and the addition of Bruce Willis to the clan. Dang this movie is awesome…
I just watched Moonrise Kingdom yesterday at The Arclight in Hollywood CA.
I enjoyed the tremendous film with vibrant colors. Espcially yellow being the dominant color and 60’s theme. My favorite character has to be Cousin Ben, played by Jason Schwartzman. Funny as always. Hilarious with the mirror shades.
I saw the movie I enjoyed it a lot. Want to see it again. I really enjoyed the character Sam Shakusky, he isn’t afraid to fight and doesn’t let any one get in the way of his happiness even if he his small and outnumbered, he is the underdog.
Walt Bishop because of “I’ll be out back. I’m gonna find a tree to chop down.”
I can’t wait to see this movie! I’m sure Bill Murray will steal the show as usual.
I cannot wait for this! I am somewhat shamed since I cried showing the trailer to someone yesterday morning, but I’d do it again in a heartbeat.
Cannot wait until it opens in Chicago. I like that there is a big cast again. Just found this website btw – I dig it!
Oh and I like Sam because he’s the underdog hero.
I can’t wait to see this film. I can easily say that Wes Anderson’s films make me more happy then anything else, and I ascribe an enormous amount of value in everything that he creates. I live in St. Louis where, due to the limited release, the film will not be out until the 15th of June, and I am seriously considering driving to Chicago when I get out of school on Friday so that I do not have to wait. I am so excited, and I can only expect the best from this film that is even touching from the trailer and poster alone.
I haven’t seen it yet, I may have to wait until the nationwide release if I can’t find a theater near me that’s screening it now. I’ve been looking for the past hour or so; that’s how I found this website. From what I do know about the film though I’d have to say my favorite character is Suzy because I used to dream of giving a girl directions to “Point X” so that we could find eachother usings maps and other navigatorial aids. I’d likely fall in love with a girl who would agree to that task.
suzy! seems like the grooviest chick ever.
